SP5

Thank you SP!!!!  I took pictures. I was very good and remembered to take pictures for everyone. I have fiber in colors that are me - brigDsc01301ht pink and lime green. Also there is the pattern book for the new Debbie Macomber book A Good Yarn. I Have not read the book yet but it is on my iPod and I have been listening to it whenever I walk.

There was also a nice litDsc01302tle notebook which I will be using to keep notes in. There was a tin of the Sip for the Cure Pink Grapefruit Green Tea from The Republic of Tea.

And there was a really neat little book mark that I almost missed. It says ReadinDsc01305g Girl. And yes, I am a reading girl. It is currently marking my place in my advanced reader copy of the next book by one of my favorite authors. If you are into suspense fiction, you should really check out Karin Slaughter. HerDsc01306 next book will be out on August 30 and is the title is faithless. The cover on my copy looks way different than the copy on Amazon since mine is the advance reader copy and it is an uncorrected proof.

ps - if you are interested in this book after I am done reading it, just post a comment and I will send it on to you.

SP 5 Questions

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you? I prefer natural fibers but I have been known to use Lion Brand cotton. I generally avoid Red Heart and anything scratchy or acrylic.

2. Do you spin? Crochet? I am still learning to spin. But I do own a few spindles and some roving. And I do enjoy it. I do know how to crochet but let's just say that I leave it to others.

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.) Is being allergic to certain people count? Just kidding. I am severely allergic to strawberries. I am also allergic to some outdoor stuff but otherwise I try to avoid really strong scents.

4. How long have you been knitting? Longer than I care to admit. I learned as a small child while living in Italy.

5. Do you have an Amazon or other on line wish list? I do have an Amazon list but I tend to use it as a storage/reminder list of books to check into at the bookstore. I really should create a second Amazon list that is public. I will try and work on it over the next week or so.

6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.) I love tropical scents. My favorite perfume is plumeria from Perfumes of Hawaii. I also love Jasmine.I also love Maui Rain from Perfume from Hawaiian Classic Perfumes. In case you can't tell, I am a Hawaiian girl. I also love the scent of lavender, lemon and tangerine.

7. Do you have a sweet tooth? I do but I don't. I am on migraine medication that has altered my tastes. I still want sweets but they taste funny. I also like sour stuff. But I trying to lose weight so you don't have to worry. And I do share what I get with the guys at the fire hall so if you want to send sweets keep that in mind. By sharing, I am able to have a small taste and they eat the rest of it.

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) I listen to almost anything except rap. I have iTunes on my computer and a iPod. I will listen to almost anything. So a CD is always welcome.

10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand? I love navy. But I have so much navy in my closet that I have to avoid it. I love bright colors. The only color that I have to avoid altogether is yellow. I have to e careful with greens. I tend to avoid browns. I am a winter but I am also a summer person. Basically I love bright colors.

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? I live by myself but my cat lives with my parents.

12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know) If I was 5 years younger, I would be applying to be a career fire fighter in one of the neighboring counties. As it is I may apply to a career firefighter in my own county. If I can't do that I would like to be a volunteer chief. Of course, I would love to live in Hawaii.

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? Too many yarns to chose from to pick just one. Basically it is what ever I am playing with at the moment.

That is my fire company's carnival week and that means a week of hard work but it is also a week of fun and friends. Oh, and plenty of beer. And the boys. Oh, wait, I am always with the boys so that doesn't count.

26. Is there anything that you collect? I collect anything to do with honu and Siamese cats. I also collect tea cups. I also collect things to do with the fire service.
